Michael A. Golden is a Senior Vice President of SES Advisors and has wide ESOP financing and banking experience across the private, public and nonprofit sectors. He has managed strategic, financial and operational issues in community development banking, and develops employee-owned private companies through structuring and securing financing for corporate transactions involving ESOPs.
During the past eight years, Michael was Chief Financial Officer of a technology & public policy company, interim Director of Finance of a private cancer foundation, and consulted on a variety of management and organizational issues. He has also served as a bank officer at Shorebank, a Chicago-based community development bank with a national reputation. He managed strategic financial and operational projects for the bank, including creating and implementing its first retail marketing strategy, and leading a turn-around restructuring of its national IT area by designing and implementing a platform for multi-state growth.
Michael holds a Bachelors in Political Economy from Wesleyan University, a Masters from the London School of Economics and a Masters in Business Administration from the Yale School of Management. He has served the nonprofit and public sectors in a variety of positions, including founding several nonprofit economic development organizations, sitting on County Boards related to development strategy and “green” policies, and is now in his fourth term as an elected town councilman.
